Value and convenience

MIRCERA® provides efficiencies to healthcare professionals, support staff and patients. Haemoglobin levels can be successfully maintained by using once-monthly MIRCERA; that is only 12 injections per year. MIRCERA requires fewer injections per year than other erythropoiesis-stimulating agents (ESAs) (see Figure).1–3 This results in a reduced risk of needlestick injuries and enables staff to devote more time to other patient needs.

Refrigeration of MIRCERA is not required for a single period of up to 1 month, so the risk of lost or discarded product is reduced if there is ever an interruption in refrigeration. Other ESAs have a much shorter shelf-life at room temperature than MIRCERA (see Figure).1–4

Storage information
MIRCERA should be stored at 2–8oC and kept it in the original packaging to protect it from light. MIRCERA may be removed from the refrigerator for storage at room temperature (not above 25oC) for one single period of up to 1 month. Once removed from the refrigerator, MIRCERA must be used within 1 month. MIRCERA should be allowed to reach room temperature before injecting.
